Hi Steve,

thank you for the post, very useful, got it working first time round. I have set it up on my mac previously which was dead easy but vista is a little bit more complicated but thanks to you it all worked out.

Now for any O2 UK customers that would like to get their PC set up via USB and have an unlimited Blackberry internet plan, read the following:

1) Call o2 an get them to verbally confirm that using AP mobile.o2.co.uk will not trigger additional charges (first time round I got charged £200 which was refunded to me later), once they have given you verbal confirmation ask them to put a note on your o2 account stating that.

2) Assuming you have done exactly what Steve has instructed including inputting this exact string: +cgdcont=1,"IP","mobile.o2.co.uk"

follow the 3rd step

3) USE username: faster

password: password

to connect to the APN: mobile.o2.co.uk

If that does not work for any reason, be sure to add these details in your blackberry options -> advanced options -> TCP

I have got it working this way and it's spot on. If anyone needs advice on how to get a BB working on Mac let me know.

Above all, thank you Steve for your kind PC BB tethering advice.

Regards,

Jonatan

<dc:subject>GPRS Modem using the Blackberry 8700 on o2 with WinXP Pro</dc:subject>

Hi Steve

I have an 8700f and have followed all instructions as above. I get the same modem query results as Julius and Julian above, I checked with O2 that I have Mobile Web APN enabled on the account. But try to dial and I immediately get an error 628 The connection was terminated by the remote computer before it could be completed...

Any ideas? I've checked and rechecked everything, but still no joy. I even upgraded the desktop software from 4.1 to 4.2.1.8. Help please!

Thanks

Ian
